A CLINICAL STUDY OF THE HYPNOTIC EFFECTS OF TRIAZOLAM(HALCION¢ç)

Abstract
|
|
|
To evaluate the effects of triazolam 0.25mg on sleep, we performed a placebo controlled double blind cross-over study. The subjects were consisted¢¥ of 18 healthy medical students and .25 psychiatric patients with insomnia.
The results were summarized as follows ;
1. Comparing with placebo, triazolam significantly improved sleep performance measured on parameters such as sleep latency, total sleep time, number of sleep interruption, and mentality on waking-up.
2. Regarding to the side effects, there was no significant differences between tnazolam and placebo in terms of prevalence and severity.
These findings suggest that triazolarn is a new effective hypnotic agent.
